All-on-Six

Recreating Your Smile One Tooth at a Time

Temecula, CA's Trusted All-on-Six Dental Implant Specialist

When a patient suffers the loss of multiple teeth, that individual will then face a number of adverse effects. A person with missing teeth has an increased risk of gum disease. They also will likely have lower self-esteem, and have trouble completing daily activities, like eating and talking. Fortunately, at Ready 2 Smile Dental Group, we are proud to offer a service that can change this. All-on-six dental implants replace multiple missing teeth with six titanium alloys as the “root” for these fake teeth.

All-On-Six Dental Implants, Explained

Dental implants are all pretty much the same. Whether it is a single tooth replacement, all-on-4, all-on-six, etc the materials used are still the same. Titanium alloy rods are screwed into a patient's jawbone, and a crown is placed onto the rods in order to give the tooth that natural tooth appearance above the gums. However, the major difference when it comes to all-on-six services is the number of rods. For many tooth replacements, a single rod will be placed for each dental implant. All-on-six instead utilizes six metal rods on the upper or lower jaw of a patient’s mouth. All of the crowns then sit on these six rods. This means that many missing teeth may be sharing a singular rod as the foundation that helps them to function.

All-on-Six Eligibility

Just because a patient has experienced multiple chipped, cracked, or missing teeth does not mean that the individual is eligible for all-on-six. The following helps dentists to determine who is and who is not eligible for this dental intervention:

The number of teeth missing (must be multiple; preferably a whole arch)

The patient’s health

 The patient’s oral health

The strength of the patient’s jawbone

Whether or not the patient smokes

Ready 2 Smile Dental Group's Method

The procedure that the staff at Ready 2 Smile Dental Group follows in order to complete all-on-six dental implants is as follows:

Incision. An incision will be made where the dentist expects to put each titanium rod. Since, in this case, there are six titanium rods, that means that there will be six matching incisions in the precise location of placement.

Rods. The rods will then each be screwed into the patient’s jawbone, one-by-one. This will later fuse with the patient’s jawbone, and help to function as the tooth’s new “root”. It will provide strength and durability while the patient does every day tasks like eating and speaking.

Healing. The patient will be given 2-3 months to heal, to allow that jawbone to fuse with the titanium rods. During this time, a temporary crown will be put on the rods.

Permanent crown. After the patient has healed, the permanent crown will be placed on the rod using an abutment. This crown will match the shape, size, and color of the rest of your natural teeth.

Cost & Insurance Coverage

The cost and insurance cover for all-on-six services will depend on the patient, the dental office they receive care from, the materials used during the procedure, and the insurance they have. All-on-six dental implants usually cost anywhere from $24,000 to $30,000. This price will cover the cost of the initial consultation, anesthesia, the surgery itself, the titanium rods, crown, etc. A patient’s insurance carrier will also have a hand in the cost. Certain insurance carriers will cover more for this type of dental implant than others, so this can affect the price. Fortunately, if a patient belongs to an insurance carrier that does not provide total coverage, many dental practices offer financing options. At Ready 2 Smile Dental Group, we are proud to offer financial options that help patients get the care they need, without having to be burdened with the entire cost at once.

Care for Your All-on-Six Implants

When a patient seeks out all-on-six services, it typically means that they will be replacing many missing teeth. The protocol for taking care of a patient’s new dental implant(s) is to simply brush and floss, twice a day. In addition, many professional dentists recommend that patients that have received this type of care use a non-abrasive toothbrush and toothpaste, to increase the lifespan of the implants.
